Default 36 Mirage

Anybody own one of these? Anybody know anything about them? Good or bad, I would appreciate any input.

We just sold one to Robert Haas of MD who, im sure, will jump into this thread..... The boats are great... the 36 is the same running bottom as the 36 cigarette. I used to race a 29 in the late 70's. and then in 86(rum runner) Cortez built them to last.

I lightend mine up alot due to running outboards. Very well built from what I can tell and most people I've talked to.
Ran it a few weeks ago in some nasty cold water outside Indian River Inlet. Waves were running 5' to 6' with no problem.
I'm not experienced yet at running these types of boats so I'm not pushin it yet. My last two boats were a 31 scorpion and a 23 Nova. The scorpion was only in my possesion a very short time.
Contact me if you need more pictures or any help I can provide.

Hey Todd!

I had a 79 26' Mirage. I believe they were built by the same company, althought, I know of at least 3 Mirage boat companys.
Just after I bought mine I found a 36' Mirage with twin 454s and Panther jets. It was a an 80 that had never been titled. A dealer in Louisana had it as his personal boat. That's what I was told. It really looked cool. I was wishing I hadn't already found mine.

The 36 Mirage were very heavy. I looked at a drug repo a few years back. They take alot of HP to get them to move. Wardey

Mika,
That one is not an 86 as described, it's an 87 like this one from Michigan. I'm not positive but 87's went to dual hatches.
