OT: cheap resorts at LOTO

anyone know of a cheap place to stay at the lake?
preferable somewhere between millstone and party cove or in the gravois arm?
i usually stay at millstone but would like to try some place cheaper and different. it needs to have slip rentals.
all i really want is a shower , bed , ramp , and a slip for the boat.

thanks in advance ,
steve

Robins Resort is a good reasonable place to stay just under the Grandglaze Bridge on the left side. Robin is a nice lady that was very accommodating when we stayed there.
Another place is Lazy Days, I think it's called, in Soap Creek in the Gravious Arm. I forget the owners name, but they are VERY nice there and have about the cheapest gas I have seen on the water! That's were I always got gas since my buddy's parents lived right across the channel.

When will you be going down? Hope to see you on the water.

Lazy Days is not in Soap Creek, it is on the last point before you get to Party Cove (has two coves, slips on eithe side of the penninsula, condos up high on the hill). And it is NOT cheap. Stayed there three times, and will not do so again simply because for the time I/we stay in the condo, you can get something a LOT cheaper. The steps from your condo to the water get old too......I think it was 78 from water to the top, and another 20 or so up the stairs to the condo....over 100 steps from bed to boat. TOO MANY!!! Cord found us a place this year at half the cost, right ON THE WATER, at the 20 mile marker (between the highway 54 bridge and Shooters). You might shoot him a PM to get the web address he used. Had a LOT of others in the same price range. Or ask Gordo, he seems to know where all the lower priced but clean places are.

call PMG

http://www.pmg-lakeoftheozarks.com/vr_condominium.asp

BTW, I know of a real nice one at Palisades, with a protected boat slip.

OBNOXUS21 04-14-2003 08:56 PM

Yeah it was Tom's place. Sorry I got the name wrong :(
Whatever it's called Tom IS a really nice guy and the walk to the covered slips isn't far at all!

OBNOXUS21 04-14-2003 08:56 PM

Might be Beauty View. I'm pretty sure that sounds right!

Depending on what you consider cheap, try www.vrbo.com
These are vacation rentals by owner. I was checking it out and found a 1br condo for $115 a night that included a 28' slip.

mpally 04-14-2003 09:42 PM

What does a fairly decent condo rent for now? Say a 3bdrm 2 bath.

I've looked quite a bit online and for that size, its $200-250 a night depending on the resort and mgmt company.

OBNOXUS21 i havent been able to find anything on Beauty View.
do you have any idea what their rates are?
i want to find something CHEAP that i can stay at maybe 12 weekends over the summer.

these 100.00 something a night condos aint going to cut it for me.
takes to much of a toll on gas money ;)

at the Lake, you just got to love those steps!!

KCHOTBOAT 04-15-2003 10:53 AM

Rock Harbor is in the area. They have both small cabins and apartment like rooms. Real clean and nice slips.

283CHECK 04-15-2003 11:10 AM

We stayed at Temple resort a couple times last year, they have a ramp and the prices are reasonable, and covered slips(they are tight but our 283convincor fits fine).. they are in the state park cove and are right off of 54...

JaayTeee 04-15-2003 11:11 AM

Rock harbor is a good one,
( the water pressure in the shower
could have been better)
You can also try Cloverleaf,
it's across the cove from lakeview,
or relax-a-way, these places are
in the big cove around the 12MM,
the boat ramps aren't too great,
but you can use the Shawnee
Bend access.
These two put you in a good area of
the lake.

how about any places up on 30-40 mm end of the lake? later in the summer we may want some place that is alittle calmer..

The ramp is a bit of a pain. I normally just use the one at Lake Shores Marina

I had to use the ramp at Runaway II. The place had more red necks and tents. I didn't like the place.

283CHECK 04-15-2003 11:30 AM

Later, I think Shady Oaks is closed or something. I past it on the way to our house and the sign by off Hwy. W is all covered up with a sheet. I know it was sold a year or so ago and the new owners were putting a lot of money into it. Maybe it went under or something. It is worth a call though. They were really cleanning the place up.

outlawinil 04-16-2003 11:31 PM

lotoparty-
I have a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo at Indian Pointe, MM16.5 I rent out when I'm not there. Comes with a 11x28' covered slip. Top floor corner unit with great view of main channel and the pool just below. Unfortunately I would charge over $100.

missouri 04-17-2003 09:48 PM

Temple Resort is right by the party cove on the glaize arm ......
Kalfran is a great little place on the 19 1/2 mile marker...right around the corner from the no wake area.....
Robins Resort is also nice...
