O.T. Ford 350 6.0 5 spd Vs. Dodge Cummins?
 

Does anyone own the new PSD with the 5 speed auto ? Any problems? I have a Dodge now, and buying the Ford 03 w/4 door cab. I need input! Thanks Mark

6.0 and 5-speed with 224 miles and looks good so far.........

2500 miles on my dually, no problems. I did have to have the ICP sensor changed and a re-flash, but i knew that was going to happen. With 4:10 rears it is very quick! The tow/haul mode in the trans is great. Automatically down shifts and raises the shifting rpms. I may not even install the break box for the trailer.

The new cummins has a little less hp but also a new design. I have heard nothing about it though.

Mark you can go to the Dieslestop.com and check it out. They have LOTS of info over there. Just keep in mind you will only hear the bad on a board like that and never the good. However you will know what can go wrong and it will give you a idea of how things are going for people.

Thanks for the input guys. Jon, Mary doesn't like the ford. I put my Dodge next to the Ford heres what I found; Ford is 18"longer(due to full rear doors). It sits 2" higher at cab. But is 2"lower at back gate and bed level. The tow hitch on the ford is almost 4' lower. This will be a problem with my trailer as it is at 24' ball height. Also the Ford does not turn anywhere near as tight as the dodge, not just due to the longer wheelbase either its in the steering box. Also I do not like the idea of having to go out to lock hubs!:

You don't go out to lock ther hubs, there automatic. The hubs can be locked in manually if you wanted to leave them lock in full time. Also the Ford will absolutely run faster and has quicker exeleration than the Dodge. I like the Dodge alot but it's just to short on performance.

byron ive got a chain any time you wount to hook up to my 2003 dodge ho cummings mfb i love my new dodge the new motor is great and quiet more power than you will ever need 305 and 555 and it's down low you doint have to wind it to death to get it moving the power stroke red lines at 4600 my uncel has one and has had to have the turbo replaced all ready les than 500 miles

mfb357 - The Bacardi Silver team has the new 6.0 PSD / 5 spd auto and it is doing great. Also have a Dodge 3500. Both are very good trucks but the Dodge isn't any match for the Ford when it comes to pulling big loads over long distances.

I'll take the Cummins over any of the others . The motor is proven , simple and really inexpensive to bomb (modify) and with the addition of one little plug in module it will run with the others and get great mileage.
It's just the rest of the truck that might not last
