Consumer Reports has given them a 'waste of money' status (or something equal to that). As I recall, Sharper Image was actually suing Consumer Reports over their review hoping they would pull it or change their opinion. From what I can see, they are just a ozone generator. You know the same stuff that makes a laser printer smell funky.

I had one.
Kept it on high for about 2 weeks. At the end, I couldn't remember my wife's name, and could only see in black and white.
I think I returned it.
