I rarely make comments on products, however, I thought I would chime in with my .02. As most of you know I own the ex-Dick Simon F-2 Twin Step Cigarette 38' Top Gun that weighed in at 7800 pounds (dry with Bravos and HP500's).

I recently (less than 20 hrs. ago) upgraded to twin 740HP blower motors and Imco SC drives. I am guessing that the boat's dry weight has increased to about 8300 or 8400 pounds. The boat is running in excess of 100mph and so far (knock on wood) I have not had an issue with the drives. The gear ratio is 1.36.

Suffice it to say that I am in agreement that a 37' Active Thunder (or any boat) that weighs in at 9000 pounds with only 675HP should (theoretically) not be capable of breaking these upgraded drives unless they are subject to excessive abuse.

Perhaps a third party examination of the internal components would be a good idea - someone with no interest in the outcome (a non Mercury or Imco dealer). See what they say. You can usually tell abuse (poor throttling) from component(s) failure.

Regardless ... good luck! I am keeping my fingers crossed that I do not experience a similar failure!

Pat got a call from Fred today, and they worked out a resoloution to the situation. IMCO will fix the drive that was broke out of gratice, and since the other drive is only worn I will pay for the parts for that drive, this way I will have two new drives. I thought this was fair and thank both Fred and Pat in coming to a resolve, I just pray that I still can make the May 2, TIC-FAW 200, in Louisainna, the helicopter has been paid for, it will make great advertising for both Active Thunder and Imco products.
If the drives get to Pat at Active Thunder I will buy 2 extra video's and ship one out to each of you, Thank you for coming through, sincerely Jeff Jassby:D

Have a look at santiago' zero cavity thread with Pulse Drives that looks cool.

I have had Pulse Drive for only 5 mths 2 x 800hp run the hell out of it no problems

I am yet to talk to the Pulse user that has ever had a problem

Jeff - Glad everything worked out with IMCO. So far I have yet to have any problems with my Imco drives. Ran the heck out of them at the Havasu Poker Run and (knock on wood) - zero problems. Good luck!
