anyone have a used bravo trim pump to part out

a friend has an 89 454 with bravo drive. The trim pump valve bleeds down in a couple days. marine mechanic said repair process is buy one of three check valves, one at a time (they are around $40 each?) if no fix, then buy whole pump.

or jsut buy whole new pump

does anyone have a blown pump that might sell cheap. we could swap the valves, and if no luck, then just buy a new pump assembly.

thanks

Rob, is it Steve's Checkmate??

Give Valako a call.....he has lots of old stuff laying around the shop....might have what you need. Or Craig at Offshore Upgrades might have something.

Worked today....felt a lot better. Not great, but better. In the mean time, to keep the drive off the pavement, tell him to get a set of those plastic drive keepers (or whatever they are called). West Marine carries them. They snap over the ram on the cylinder and keep the drive from going down. Good for trailering anyway...so they won't be a total waste of money for him.

thanks Mike, I'll try Jim V

if it is the trim cylinder seals, how easy are they to replace?

what's cheaper to try first?

thanks
