Even Vanilla Ice drove an Apache
I know he owned a 28 Pantera.
But he raced an Apache. Check out this old article. http://www.njppc.com/OldOffshoreStor...July281991.htm |
Good thing it was not a stepped bottom given the relative little experience of the driver and flat water.
:D :D :D :D (just kidding you wackos) |
I still cant decide if that's good or bad.
|
Anyone have any pictures of the boat he drove?
|
He raced Sea-Poos in the IJSBA too; up until about 1994 or so.

Here is Ice back in 1993 when I delivered his custom made 28 Pantera powered with twin 502-465 HP Mercruiser packages. He designed his own paint that we applied and had the first purple interior in a Hi-performance boat.

He raced an apache in 91 then bought a Pantera in 93. At least his taste in boats was better than his taste in music.

Here is one more picture of the boat when it touched water for the first time at Ft. Apache Marina.
I still see Ice from time to time at the Motocross track here in Ft.Lauderdale. Regards, JO |
Jo,
What did that boat have for power? Do you know if it's still around? |
He designed his own paint that we applied and had the first purple interior in a Hi-performance boat. Apache and PowerPlay were doing purple in the late 80's! |
Take a closer look at Joe's first post with picture to see what kind of power it had in it at the time.

Hey Caincando 1,
Last I heard the boat was located in Maryland and is all white since we sanded off the paint work on the boat before it got sold.Lenny Kravitz the singer owned it for a while after Ice but did not have much time to use it.It was powered with twin 502-465 HP Mercruiser packages.Top speed back then was in the 86 MPH range. In reference to the purple interior Ices boat had a purple glo color that was used that was much brighter than the shades of purple in the late 80s.The purple glo vinyl got very popular and we still use it time to time on new customers boats. I have delivered many boats with purple interiors over the years. The deck paint design was off of a tatoo that Ice has on his leg. Regards, Jo |
Take a closer look at Joe's first post with picture to see what kind of power it had in it at the time. I was to busy staring at Ice's sexy white as a ghost bod.LOL Brian |
it was a 48 express cat rigged by apache called apache express it had triple 1000 cobras and # 6's it ran like 125mph

Ice Ice Baby.......

Hey Guys,
I found one more pic. of Ice while I was delivering his boat.He ordered Ft. Apache Marina to drive down a marina forklift down 188 ST. to pick up his boat at my factory and take it back to Fort Apache to fuel up and splash for the first time. This picture was taken while we were located in Thunderboat row. :D The first time we met Ice he was wearing a purple cape and driving a $ 600,000 Gemballa Porsche. My Father told him I am glad you will be a new Pantera owner but I think your rap music sucks.:D He told my Father that was the first time anybody had told him that.:D We have remained friends over the years. Regards, JO |
