Trailer Wiring question

First time towing with my new '02 FX4. The trailer wires are not long enough to plug into the truck...I need an adaptor or something to make it long enough to reach. Any idea what this is called or what I should be looking for?

I tow a lot of different trailers and need all kinds of adapters. If you have the normal flat 4 wiring you just need an extension wire. They are available at most auto parts stores.
If you need to extend the wires for the trailer and it is different than most wiring you will need to splice in wires. BUT if you do that make sure they are heat shrinked or they won't last long.

Any local boat dealer should have a 36" adaptor, male one end, female other end, just anextension cable, for a few dollars
