I need to replace the internal flaps on these exhaust tips. Problem is I dont know who the mfg is.
4" diameter The top is 5 3/4" off transom tappered back to 4" (bottom) off transom. Inside the boat it is about 5" long and connects to the exhaust with rubber exhaust hose. Any ideas? |

I have the same tips and need to replace the internals. If I come up with a name I'll let you know. Do they have a rubber seal on a metal flapper?
|
The second picture looks like old Gil's. Does it say Gil on the metal ring on the outside of the transom? Gil was bought out by I beleive Corsa. Even if they are not Gil's, Corsa should be able to help you out. Are you going with rubber or stainless steel?

Im worried about water getting back up into the motor when the boat is floating w/ out the motor running.
Bill R; are those switchable or always muffled? |
They look pretty standard, so Dana Marine or somebody like that should be able to help you out. Give them the spacing between the holes to be safe.
|
Found a flapper on the Eddie Marine but it looks like it is discontinued
100-31 discontinued (centered hing) replacement is 100-32 at least the picture shows the hing is offset which will not work. Anyone have something lying around? |
I have a set of 4" clamshell type flappers that fit inside a piece of 4" exhuast hose. If either of you can use them Ill give them away. They are like new condition. Pantera, your in my area so they ouldnt have to be shipped. I switched to Shotguns so I dont need flappers.
|
Pantera wins by geographic location ;) You also got a better chance of bumping into him at the bar and collecting a bunch-o swell guy drinks.
If you can remember where you got them please let me know. Thank for the offer. |
Ordered them thru Boat US. They were called retrofit flappers. Dont remember who makes them. Clam shell weighted flapper in a 4" OD Stainless sleeve about 4" long. Flappers are rubber tip coated to keep em quite.
