Default How high is your boat on the trailer?

We're in the process of designing our new house and are trying to design a boat garage into the house. We want to allow for a bigger boat than the 30 footer I currently have so we need some help. (Never know when or what will be next!! )

It would be great if some of the OSO'ers could post the size and kind of boat you have and the highest point when it's on the trailer.

Thanks for the help!

Jeff

Do at least 9 foot door.
Look up Doc Holliday on the Baja Forum. he just built a new building for a 36, he would be a good source

If possible, whatever the height may be try to allow yourself some additional height. While working in the garage on your boat the rafters may put an "ouch" on the noggin!... Has that happened to anyone?

You could always ask the builder to do a vaulted ceiling in the garage. That way, once your in, you'll have plenty of headroom. Downside = no attic space over the garage.

Not to mention room for the hoist when its time to pull those engines! Id say a 15' - 16' ceiling at the minimum.......
