Language Police
In the new book “Language Police” Diane Ravitch explains how our texts for our children are being edited with more sensitive words in order to not offend anyone. The texts are eliminating gender words such as he, him and founding fathers. Even words such as craftsman or lumberjack are not used as they signify the male gender.

In order to be politically correct we may want to revue the language in the boating community and make changes as necessary. A few examples might be:
Apache Boats – should be changed to Native American boats
Cigarette Boats – no mention of such a vulgar product should be allowed
OffshoreOnly.com – the title is too exclusive and must be changed to be all-inclusive
Cockpit – need I say more, change it to operation area
Gunwale – there will be no words with the mention of weapons
Seamanship – no gender related words allowed
Sextant – let’s not allow this filth in our language
Rooster Tail – again rooster designates the male gender
You get the idea and I am sure we use a ton of words that some would consider offensive.

It's getting a little ridiculous if you ask me. No matter what you say you end up offending someone or some organization. When I don't remember any of this stuff when I grew up. Come to think about it I think it's good to get offended. It's good to realize that there are other points of view that you may not necessarily agree with. What... are we raising a generation in a bubble. You need to be exposed to stuff like that. It builds character. Makes people stronger. That's my opinion anyway..

Pretty soon all our kids will be running around in body condoms. Remember to good old days of getting "swatted" if you misbehaved in school. Geeez....can you imagine what would happen to a teacher if they did that toady!!!!???? Not like I'm an old timer...I'm only 30 years old. I'll tell ya what....those swats straightened me out right now, no question about that!
Also...no using the term "outdrive" as that could be misconstrued as leaving poor innocent kittens "out in the driveway".
"Transom" can not be used, it may be misheard....it sounds alot like "ransom" and it could offend anyone who has ever been in a hostage situation.

I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot
works, I don't want you deciding who should be
running the most powerful nation in the world for
the next four years.
I dislike those people standing in the intersections
trying to sell me crap or trying to guilt me into making "donations" to their cause. These people should be targets.
I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child,
it takes two parents.
And what the hell is going on with gas prices ... again?
