Found this site (Political Compass) - it purports to give you a reading on your political / social beliefs. I found the questions to be a little too either/or, but it wasted 10 minutes of an otherwise boring day, so what the hell - don't cost nothin' 
Plus it gives a few famous people who they think would fall into the various categories.
Economic Left/Right: 6.38
Authoritarian/Libertarian: 2.62
Over in the George W. Bush / Margaret Thatcher section. No surprise there, though like I said, I thought a number of the questions were unreasonably absolute.
