Exhaust Header Wrap

I had a customer call, they run the cruise boat on the Lake Front in Chicago. He is looking for a fiberglass wrap for his exhaust manifolds. Does anyone know of this stuff. I believe there have been a few race boats that used something similar a few years back. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes they do make header wrap . I would try summit .

Both Summit and Jegs will carry it. I'd advise against it though. The wrap causes the temps to rocket well past the limit for the metal. I have saw a header that actually blew a chunk of the tube out like shrapnel! The portion of the tube that was wrapped was all crazed and cracked. It was obviously over heating.

Thanks for the info I will let them know.

I use to put it on bike's all the time and it worked great for what we wanted it to do, not burn the bodywork. I never saw any HP gain and did a lot of dyno work. Don't use it on a Titanium or chrome pipe. If you are working on the thing all the time it make's it nice because it is cooler so you wont get burned on the exhaust.
