Out of the ones that you have listed, I would go with the Warlock. They are fast hulls and handle the rough pretty good. I know this will piss some people off, but the Reindl boats are ugly. I know that they are fast, but I would not buy one for everyday use. Just my opinion though.

I don't know much about Warlock, but my buddy bsag has one. He loves the speed and handling of the 27 (502 with either a Pro Charger or Vortec; can't remember) he has, but his biggest complaint is how careful you have to be with the cockpit, being that it is all made from plywood.

The Warlock 29 World Class w/496HO ran 71.?mph (radar) when test by Powerboat Magazine in the Sept. 2002 issue. Out of 7 25'-30' boats tested all equipped with the 496 HO the Warlock posted the fastest top speed, with a very competitive price.

The Warlock 25WC Factory 1 boat is currently run by Team BRE F1-44. They won the Silver Cup Series Championship last year, and took 1st at the Cleveland Offshore Grand Prix.

Warlock has solved many quality issues that were present during the Grandville era.

SteveS,

What about the Ownership/Quality/Plywood issue? That has got me somewhat concerned. I did not think many manufacturers used this anymore with the modern urethanes available.

Thanks

My 28 Pantera is great...
I shopped this to death before I bought this boat. I was actually very close to buying a 26 Prowler, but had to have the Pantera after the test ride!
A friend of mine has a 26 Prowler. These guys are right.. It will run 64 with a 502, but it's a dog coming on plane with 4 people.
The 24 Pantera is very cool, but doesn't really have nuch of a cabin. It would be a great Lake boat.
I was out last weekend with Jo Nunez. He had a '01 24 with sit down buckets, and a 496HO. That was a VERY impressive little boat. It's for sale!
That boat is every bit of a 70 MPH boat. It's no good if the Mrs. has to have a cabin with Potti.
I have a pic of the 24 next to my 28 if you like... Just PM me your email address.

Default Thoroughbred

My 26 T'bred is for sale in Austin and runs 77 all day and has gone 82.4 on GPS. It is rare and unique similar to west coast boats but built on the east coast. It is a custom boat. I am a VERY motivated seller.

The boat is in the for OSO classified as well as the Boats for Sale Forum. Please give it a look, we can go for a ride anytime.

Well, Mike, make that 15 boats. I have to put a plug in for my brand too. I know hugonb said up to '28 but the '30 Superboat can probably be had for the same price if not less than some of the mentioned boats. As far as the three criteria ...

1. Quality, Superboats may not have the fit and finish or amenities of other boats but they are strong hulls.
2. speed, I think the '30 runs close to 80 with a 500HP.
3. resale, this may depend on the part of the country you are in. People who are in the know realize that Superboats have been racing competitivly for nearly 30 years. I don't think they would be hard to sell.

I was suprised at the comments about Ultimate Warlocks. I thought they were high end boats. Boat shopping is fun! I think I am going to be looking hard at Pantera for my next boat.
