Does fogging oil foul plugs?

Went to fire both motors today. 1 flooded and wouldn't start, the other runs great but if I hold it above 2000 rpm it sputters. When I do a couple of quick revs up to 3000 rpm it sounds fine, but after that if I try to hold it above 2000 rpm again it still sputters.

Could it be a foul/not firing plug? Or bad gas? Tanks are almost full but I don't remember putting in stabilizer.

Then I go back to the other motor, and wouldn't ya know it....the battery dies!!

Boy, I was so excited to just have them fire right up. Guess it is back to reality and scrambling to get it ready for memorial day!

Fuel is always the easy suspect.
But it really sounds like ignition. Spark plug wires or coil?

i've always heard yank the plugs and bump the starter to spit out all the fogging oil.

funny thing is i had the same problem on my first boat. back when i knew realitively nothing about boats. mixed in some octane booster and changed the fuel/water seperator [fuel filter], new plugs and problem solved.

if it's your first run of the season i say change the fuel filter. and after burning that fogging oil, prolly the plugs as well

I would replace the cap and rotor. Also check for any corrosion in the distributor.
