Default hummer s

i m sure everybody knew this . yesterday i stopped by the nearest hummer dealership . a really knowlegable ? salesman convinced me to take it for a ride. we decided to see if it would fit in my garage , about 2 miles from the dealership . the thing was awesome ! [ obviously an h2 ] i squeesed it by my ford truck ; and it fit fine . however , on the way back when i asked how much it would tow , he said 7000 lbs . i had thought it was higher . any thoughts? thanks !

I thought it was 8000, I have talked to people that say they are towing 8-9-10klbs and say it does great. None of them ever had anything bigger than a 1500 or 150 truck before, and how many people are going to spend 52k on something and say it sucks.

Default H2

The H2 is built on a widened Tahoe chassis. The 6 liter engine has lots of power, but you will get only 10 mpg-period. The things weigh like 6800 lbs.

If you want to tow I would recommend the Avalanche 2500 w/ 8.1 liter rated to tow 12000 lbs.
Or a Suburban/Yukon XL w/12500 lb. capacity w/ 8.1.

If you are looking at spending that much $ also try the Escalade, it has a 7800 lb. towing cap and is way more confotable and luxurious.

BTW- My employer builds the seats that go in all of these vehicles.

The Question is how much do you need to tow? If you like the truck and its over a little...... no sweat! I pulled my 31 Sonic with my Tahoe for years once you get the truck and trailer set up it will work just take it easy.

We have an H2 and love it. It sucks gas, but not nearly as bad as my boat! And the tank is pretty big. 10-11 mpg average. About 9 towing. I have towed 5000 lbs with no troubles at all. I am sure it can tow more than 7000 lbs, just make sure you have good brakes on the trailer. I believe it is a shortened, and widened version of the suburban 2500 frame, which is rated for 10 or 12,000 lbs.

If you really want an SUV that is built for towing get a diesel Excursion.

Here's some help I work for GM in Janesville where we built the tahoe, suburban, yukon xl. For true pulling power buy the suburban 6.0 or 8.1L 2500 the extra wheel base makes a hugh difference, I would also add autoride!! As for the price my discount is 15.5% off the sticker you should try to buy it for that then minus all rebates gm is offering. Let me know if you need some help.
