Wish me luck, having major surgery today
 

A month ago today my wife filed for divorse so later that day I made an appointment to get a vasectomy. I guess that's not so major............I just don't need sharp things around that area. I've heard horror stories and good stories about the procedure. I figure it's worth any mental anguish I will go through because I sure as hell don't need anymore babies running around cutting into my boating time. They tell me shootin` blanks ain't so bad.

Stop by the store and buy 3 or 4 bags of frozen peas-you'll need them to sit on later;)

Ditto the frozen peas! Make sure you keep those puppys cold for at least 5 days. And, this is very important, do not do any heavy lifting for at least 2-3 weeks. I thought I was good to go after one week and... lets just say it was the size of a grapefruit:eek: But other than that it wasn't bad at all. The needle in the "spot" wasn't as bad as I thought it would be:) Good Luck, the piece of mind is worth it! Listen to the doctor and make sure you go back for the follow up and see if you are shooting blanks:)

TFLB, sorry to hear of the divorce. As for the surgery, it too will feel like a kick in the nuts.

Ditto on the frozen veggies...........I always prefferred the corn though

I worked with a guy that had the big snip. He actually came into work after the surgery. I have never seen somebody so grey and ashen in my life. He truly had the color of a person that was dead. After a couple of hours he actually went home. I don't think that anybody blamed him.

Told you to buy a boat instead. Good luck. Let me know about working on your boat this weekend or better yet how about Tangos.

Make sure that the doctor takes his claritin prior to the procedure. A sneeze could have drastic consequences.

Just a little hint,you won't notice how BAD IT FRICKIN HURTS until after the freezing wears off. Make sure you are horizontal and have the frozen veggies ready cause your gonna need them. And pay attention to the no lifting part!!!!!!

Been there done that, It only took about 15 min and I was done. No big deal. I worried more than it ws worth that is for sure.

I feel for ya bud. The thought of it makes me cringe!

Sweetie puss has been wanting me to do it for about a year now. I keep telling her I don't have anything long enough to tie in a knot. :D

No big deal, the worst part was really the fact that my doc was an hour behind that day. Pretty ironic, go from sweating bullets to shooting blanks!:D

Every thing went good, went home and laid down took pain pills, drank vodka and used ice............a little sore today but not bad. I'm just gonna take it easy for a couple a more days and I should be ready to roll soon.

Just remember no lifting for 2-3 weeks. You will feel good after 3-7 days but you can still hurt them. Glad everything went well! Good luck!
