timucin 05-16-2003 01:21 PM

not as i expected means: i was thinking more speed and more adrenaline.. i need much more power....

puder 05-16-2003 02:44 PM

is it posible you were really hauling ass and just didn't realize it becasue you were under a canopy?

i know 100 on my motorclcye feels a ****load faster than 100 in my car.

mr_velocity 05-16-2003 02:57 PM

a 100 in my car feels faster than 100 did in the skater.

timucin 05-16-2003 05:40 PM

gps reading will be tomorow

my friend is also saying the same thing about under canopy stuff..

-do you think i should try bigger props?

-but i was dreaming 120's ..... ( oso family made me believe this )

anyway, will go faster soon

Doesn't a 28 Skater with a couple of big outboards run over 100?

Jolley 05-16-2003 06:53 PM

Nose weight (ballast) Did you put in that 150-200 lbs (=?kilos) as ballast forward? Be safe my brother............... I think the forum, builders, T2X and racers, 'NEED'(hope) you to follow their advice....... Balance!!! ............ Not just CG, but as Audacity has said 'MOMENT OF INERCIA' ie. 'Roll Center' . Best of luck, we are only looking after your best interest's!!!!!!!!!!;) :)

Tim, 28" props?

The props were 28"? with a 10% slip factor, and 5600 with 1.36 gears, I think you were running 98 mph. How much HP do you think the engines put out? Running the numbers, if your set up is anywhere near right, you are only putting out around 500 per motor. How high are the prop shafts?

as i recall 500hp was about what his engines were making.

Philip 05-17-2003 10:33 PM

Puder, that makes sense 500 seems right

Tim, did you run the boat today?? can you go over the set up again? I thought you posted it, if there is a post can you give me the link. If the engines are putting out more then 500 hp you might want to double check the height, and other measurements. toe on the drives, centerline of the shafts in relation to the sponson edge.
