Oshkosh Boaters Check In!!!

Just curious how many people on this Public Forum do there boating in Oshkosh? Who Do you buy your boats from? Who works on them?

IDRPSTF 05-19-2003 08:01 PM

Rod seems to work on alot of boats there. Seems to have a Good name in the industry!

Cord 05-19-2003 08:40 PM

I also get up there a couple of times a year. Rod has done all of my shop work in the past and will continue to do it in the future.

Mel riggs is the only one that works on my boat here in Wisconsin. I have a '36 Apache and dock it at Calumet harbor in the town of Pipe. I also have a slip in the Milwaukee river.

APACHE- NO SMOOTH WATER SISSY!!!!!

Lake Winnebago is great!!! Try to make it to Oshkosh and stay at the Pioneer Inn (awsome resort on the water) at least 4-5 times a year.

Little Tommy, I have seen your Apache parked in the driveway off North Ave. You have a beautiful boat. I live off Gebhardt in the newer section of Glen Kerry. I have a 22 Velocity with a Pro Max 300 ,my son and I in the next few months haul up to Oshkosh on Sundays and boat either on the lake or up the river to Fremont depending on the weather. If your in the neighborhood ,stop by . Frank sr.

Frank! Whats up with your pen name? Did you have to get a new one? We otta get together this summer. I still owe you a ride.

Cord, I had problems getting on the board with my original screen name, so a short while ago I changed and it now is working fine. How are you coming along with your project? Have you been in the water yet this year? I haven't been in yet, probably in the next week or so. Right now its my "garage Queen" Frank

IDRPSTF 05-20-2003 07:39 PM

I may be out that way within the next few weeks. I'll have to take some time to enjoy the sights.

Little Tommy 05-20-2003 08:39 PM

Frank, Would love to see your boat. Next time you go past, stop in. I always have alot of visitors wanting to check the boat out. We are taking it up to Winnabago this saturday to splash it. It should be warmer up there. Getting it ready for "SMOKE ON THE WATER" in 3 weeks. Will have to get together and do some boating this summer. Tommy. 262-827-8827

RonS 05-20-2003 10:07 PM

We 'll be up there this weekend, probably sunday or monday or both. We go up there quite a bit in summer.

Who's going to be at the Oshkosh Thunder Poker run June 13th and 14th?

Cord 05-20-2003 10:59 PM

Frank-the boat is done. Still shaking out the bugs though. There are a couple of rough edges that still need to be worked out, but I'll get them. Stay in touch.

RonS-I'm not sure if we're going to make the poker run. I just don't have the time (or money).

Little Tommy 05-22-2003 04:34 PM

RonS, What do you run with? Just so I can look out for you this week-end in Winnabago! Little Tommy

I've been up in Appleton all week on business at the Gulfstream jet center here, and finally had the opportunity to go and meet Rod yesterday. If you are in the area, you owe it to yourself to check out Performance Marine, and see all the things Rod has and does!
He took time out of his busy day to show me his operation, and is truly a stand-up guy in this industry. If you have something that just seems very hard to find or figure out, call him- he probably has what you need.
Thanks for the tour, Rod!:)

Rod is top notch!!!! Always willing to help. He spent many hours pondering and suggesting solutions to my engine problem. Even offered to stop by one time on his way back up north from delivering a boat!!!

Great guy, impressive facility!!!

Thanks Rod!

Little Tommy 05-23-2003 10:43 AM

Hey Ron,
Maybe we will see you on the river. Hope it is warmer up there then it is down here!

RonS 05-26-2003 01:15 PM

Little Tommy, I looked for you on Sunday but did'nt see any apache's. Let me know the next time your heading up there, maybe we can get together.
