Who hasn't splashed yet???

Damn, this weather is really srarting to piss me OFF....I've had the boat ready to go for the last 2 weeks, washed ,waxed, all fluids and filters changed, some new gauges and other new goodies installed, even all new bearings and seals on the trailer, and a full tank of gas.....BUT,when it doesn't rain, the temps are only in the 50's with a nasty northwest wind(which LK MI.doesn't like)And the forecast for this weekend SUCKS too....About ready for a new hobby..................
Steve

THRILLSEEKER 05-22-2003 11:16 AM

Just be thankfull that your boat is ready to go:rolleyes:

Mine will be sittin in the damn upholstry shop probably til July:mad:

EX20 05-22-2003 11:19 AM

I haven't splashed either. Rain or 50's with high winds. I have to move.:(

28SS 05-22-2003 11:28 AM

I'm with thrilseeker! Need to finish interior (doing it myself) slow bastard I am. And still waiting for new fuel tank. Thinking splash end of june. Then figure out what new problem will arise

OldSchool 05-22-2003 11:37 AM

My boat has been ready since the 1st of march and I've been out for two quick rides:mad:  It won't be long and we can all complain about the heat!!!

Another thing is that hardly anyone has broken anything.:D

The bad news is that for us on the Potomac, after all of this rain, there will soo much junk in the water for at least two more weeks after the rain stops.

KAAMA 05-22-2003 11:38 AM

For the most part my boat is 97% ready to go. The weather hasen't been the greatest, BUT there has been a few days that boaters could have been out there on the lake. Last weekend I was down in St. Joe and the lake was calm---in fact I counted slightly over 100 boats out on Lake Michigan within about 1.5 miles of the St. Joseph pier head/jetty last weekend. I thought we've been getting A LOT of rain lately----the St. Joseph River water levels are up----for now. The nice weather will be here soon---but you're right Steve, the summers it seems are almost too short.

Eternal Warrior 05-22-2003 11:43 AM

I've been waiting on my new boat to come in. So I haven't minded the weather. But the wait over next week :) or so I'm told

klmken 05-22-2003 11:46 AM

Engine is still in peices on the garage floor. I have no idwea when I am going to splash this year:(

Zanie 05-22-2003 11:56 AM

Mine is still in the storage building, won't need much to be ready.
I don't have a good excuse!

cuda 05-22-2003 12:06 PM

Which boat?:D

45sonic 05-22-2003 12:42 PM

We got ours in earlier this season but then broke. It's been almost two months now. :( The new trailer is on its way from Florida and the motor should be done next week. So, like Eternal Warrior said, we haven't minded the weather. But once it gets nice on the weekends (is that possible?), I hope we have a boat to have fun on.:p

Safe waters to all.

ST31 05-22-2003 01:13 PM

Still waiting on my drive to be repaired. Stopped by today and they have finally been able to start on it. Hopefully will have everything back together by Saturday, but like everywhere else we are expecting rain for the entire weekend. :(

MrCIG 05-22-2003 01:23 PM

Too cold but ready to go

Mark

Scott72 05-22-2003 01:25 PM

Been trying to finish my external steering for a month. Half done, but every weekend I am free, it's 50 and rains. And this is suppose to be May?

Lucididee 05-22-2003 01:31 PM

Hopefully Memorial Day, but probably not until next weekend.

MitchStellin 05-22-2003 01:41 PM

I have been on one ride by myself since all the pansys think it is cold. last sunday was OK and i hope to get out this weekend a little.....even if it rains.

Gary C 05-22-2003 01:41 PM

Me too! I've been ready for 3 weeks now. I'm hoping to get out this weekend. It looks like Sunday will be the only half way nice day. I can't believe this weather!

Dock Holiday 05-22-2003 01:49 PM

Steve,

I feel your pain!

We have done two poker runs and been on the water two other times this year and have been rained on EVERY time!

I am going to Lake hartwell this weekend and it actually looks like we will see sunshine!

I won't know how to act? Will the boat run faster in sunshine?

Just go and get it and you wet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

RUSSSR1 05-22-2003 01:57 PM

Still need to paint drives, bellhousings and gimbal rings. Assemble gimbals with new bushings. Put swim platform back on. Install new mechanical indicators. Change fluids & Filters. Clean, buff and polish.

Not so bad but I still can't walk for another three weeks with this frickin broken ankle. It's a real pain in the %)(# to work with a anchor on your leg:rolleyes:

Pure Energy 05-22-2003 02:00 PM

No splash here either. Too busy with work to finish wiring trailer, sanding bottom, painting drives, and the final cleaning and detailing. I feel better though that it is going to rain this weekend!!

JUSTONCE 05-22-2003 02:25 PM

NOPE, Still finishing the paint work and interior.

cig1988 05-22-2003 02:36 PM

Does a "splash" with the inflatabe rigging up the hydrohoist count?

Donzi Corleone 05-22-2003 04:34 PM

We boat here year around......In the 80`s now for 2 months and water at 85 degrees.......My boat is in the paint shop now and 2 more weeks in rigging,so you know I`m going nuts watching all the others blow bye and I`m ankle deep in beach sand. IT BITES

FFO 05-22-2003 04:34 PM

The only water my boat has seen is from the hose.. It still is not ready for lake.

R Addiction 05-22-2003 04:54 PM

Spring maintenance is done, just waiting for a break in this $hit to blow out the cobwebs!!!!!! I'm thinkin' this weekend rain or shine!!!!

frequentflyer 05-22-2003 06:36 PM

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...threadid=50636

Unbelieveable. I just did graphics. Had the boat all ready and the second event of the season...BAM. ...$1800 expense.

PhantomChaos 05-22-2003 06:37 PM

I'm tired of waiting for it to cool down to wash/detail my boat, so I'm going to call a mobile detail place to do it. :D :D

36spectre 05-22-2003 06:41 PM

Almost, just need to hang on those VI drives and give it a good cleaning. Hope it warms up,still way to cold. Otto

velocity260 05-22-2003 08:00 PM

Might get the boat ready this weekend My dads big boat beat me in this year. Not worried though the temp along the lake today was 50deg, 45windchill. Went for a ride in my 13" whaler it was a little chilly only doing 25:eek:. Hopefully it warms up sometime here in Michigan. Heck we just got rid of the Ice last week. Not everything flooded because a dam broke lots of mud and trees got a free ride out too the lake. Power plant got flooded also.
