T2X, Always nice to hear a few well thought out words on a subject we have all thought about at least once or twice. I thing Bashing is often confused with Slander. One can give an opinion of quality and reliability, also an opinion of a circumstance with out it being slander. I have, on more than one occasion had threads and or comments magically disappear when I have given them as opinion and not fact. Although disturbed that I am sharing an opinion with others that may either learn or at the least begin to ponder from my point of view, Those responsible for this site could be sued! Society as I see it (Opinion Time) has put a gag on our first amendment rights and we are censored by those who face the music on our behalf. So to cut this short. Is there "Bashing" on OSO??? Absolutely, as there should be. We give our opinions and point of views until a thread gets poofed. That is the point of the public forum. Opinions and sharing of knowledge. This site used to have some great debates that we all learned from...To the point where you would read a thread and then call those involved. Unfortunately the word "Bashed" was overrun by the word "Slander" and we all learned the word "Censored". We cannot Blame Steve or Jeff, Only those of us that are thin skinned and could not retort...only call our Lawyers!

Sophistry...... let's see.... I think it is a building on a church yard.

1. Rectory........ a home for unwed fathers

2. Nunnery...... a home for unwed sisters

3. Sophistry...... a home for unwed Sophie's

Or is it a room just off the Sacristy where old Sophie Tucker songs play incessantly?

or is it a factory where Sofas are manufactured??

I like these definitions much better than that deep stuff.

That was the basic idea. Although "a home for unwed Sophie's" sounds better!

T2x, it's not the sophomores, it's those devious little chits with their fresh MBAs.

Sycophant...... Distant relative to the elephant....... This smaller, long nosed varmint is notable for its ability to follow other creatures (usually Baboons) closely while perfectly duplicating whatever sounds the followed creature makes. This serves no earthly purpose (not to be confused with Porpoise .. a sleek sea mammal named after a high perfomance boating phenomenon most often demonstrated by Jersey Speed Skiffs) other than to give the impression that there are a lot more Baboons on earth than , in truth, there actually are.

The favorite food of the Sychophant.....is Koolaid.

This is turning into a furtive and fractious thread with vituperative tones that are verboten on OSO, with T2x being periphrastic all in an effort to machicolate UncleToys in a garrulous and loquatious mannor. It just makes me lachrymose.

Actually, It is a blatant effort aimed at motivating Too Old to post his "artist's conception".....of a Sychophant.

T2x

P.S..... For Lachrymosity..... I suggest...a Lachsative
