Check out these pics-Nor-Tech - awesome boats
Just got back from the Nor-Tech Factory. Terry and Tron were gracious enough to spend a whole day with Sandy and I. We also had a surprise visit from Leander and his girlfriend, (Total Marine and Performance) who dropped off Cyclone, a 36 Nor-Tech Cat, that will debut in the Louisianna area. Needless to say, the plant tour was awesome, what a factory.:D Not only was it clean and air conditioned, but each area served as a seperate function, and worked its way down the assembly line. All I saw was craftsmen and craftswomen working together, the amount of pride was on everyone's face. The boats all looked awesome, attention to detail was at its best, THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN, alot of europeen influnces here, the boats remind me of Lamborgini's and Ferrarri's, from the 50' cats and V's to a few 4300's and many 36' cats. The best part of the day was when Terry took us for a ride on his personal 4300 V. That was the iceing on the cake, kick ass paint job, a living room down below, twinn 900's and a pair of Six's, full tank of gas and 5 of us hitting 90 plus, with about 700-800 rpms to go, CAN YOU SAY ROOSTER TAIL:D
Check out our website under PICTURES, thats where the Nor-Tech pics are. 7 Pages. Thanks again Terry and Tron, talk to ya soon www.msnusers.com/JASSMANSRADIOACTIVE |
Awesome photos of some incredible boats.

Thanks Jeff

Catman, I'm more of a V kind of guy, All the boats were awesome, I wish I could afford their 50 Cat and 50 V, best of both worlds, but something about that 4300, its not too big to trailer (almost 50') and only 15000 pounds.:p :D
|
Catman, A.T. is just in the beginning stages on their 42-44' boat, the first boat might be finished by January, and its allready taken, and a year from now is to long to wait for me. The Nor-Tech quality is awesome, the headroom is 6' plus, the beam is 9'0" with integrated swimm platform, and most important, the boat rides like a Caddillac, but looks like a Ferrarri.:D

Attention to Detail, Check out Page Racing's 36 SCL!

Here is a pic of a nor-tech 38 center console.
The picture was taken when they tried to make a new speed record from Tvedestrand to Hirtshals and back to Tvedestrand But the seas was to rough. They did not make it. The distance is aprox 130nautical miles, and the old record was 2hours and 45 minuts. And was set in 1982. |

Catman, I'm uncertain at this exact point what I'm going to do, the 37 A.T. has got to go. If I were to do it, I would pick the 4300, with a pair of Quad Whipple Rotor Motors from Total Marine and Performance with a pair of #6's. I like Nor-Techs standard set up with the side by side bolsters, large 3 tiered stepped carbon fiber dash, and the retractable rear bench behind the front bolsters. As to the vehicle, I just sold my Gmc Duramax, and ordered a 6.0 litre Powerstroke Dually. I will have to get with Boot, to chip this bad boy, cause stock aint my style:p :D I'll let you know in a few weeks, Ive got a few people looking at the Thunder:D

cat you back wow good news

I know that Nor-Tech builds a nice boat, and all builders use a certain amount of wood. But I must say i have never seen that much wood at a boat factory since the early 80's.I would be afraid of future rot problems.
|
Massive, I guess everyone has their theory on how to build a boat, where I saw plywood being used was at the transom. If you look closely, typically a builder runs his plywood bulkhead at the transom first, then butts up his stringers and glasses into place, what I noticed is the transom bulkhead was notched into the stringers and then glassed into place, in my eyes it keeps the boat from twisting or stringers coming loose. As to the rest, that would be for Terry or Tron to anwser, I believe the only wood was on me:p :D Talk to ya later Big Al.:D

Catman, Do you have the links for Sage and Weismann, thanks Jeff, I'll check them out.:D
|
Jeff, why don't you just order a new 50 foot Magnum with Detroit Deisels and Surface drives? You'll get awesome speeds, range and a huge cabin. Yeah, yeah I like that idea. In fact, I'll drive it for you just to keep it running on a regular basis while you're working to pay it off!!! :D

Thanks Catman, I'll check into the Weismann drives:D

Yeah, yeah I like that idea. In fact, I'll drive it for you just to keep it running on a regular basis while you're working to pay it off!!! :D Jeff, I really think Miller is on to something here. The only thing I would change is the engines. Miller, they have got to be 3412 Caterpillar's. You can get these marine rated to 1400+ hp:eek: :D :D. I am familiar with a 60 foot Magnum that had a couple of "special" 3412's producing 1650 hp (each) through Arneson drives. It would do an honest 60 knots. Oh and Jeff.....you can stand up in the salon as well as each of the two state rooms:D :D |
Jeff, it's inevitable. Just get the Magnum and be done with it! :D
|
Catman, H20, and Miller, I need to borrow a 1st, 2nd and 3rd mortgage on that Magnum:p :D so how about guys.:D
Too Old, thanks for the info on the Sage drives:D |
Great photos! Stringer arrangement in engine compartment reminds me of an OL.
