Anyone have any info on 45 wellcraft excalibur?

I just bumped into Smokin' Joe last weekend and I believe he now has a 45 Excaliber. He may be trading up. Joe had the Scarab 43 Pace boat with trips and #6's. (gave that to charity last year). Joe lives in Delaware and his last name is Horisk, I don't think he is on the board though.

There are a few on traderonline. Prices seem high as i am paying 175K for a new one. National liqudators has a 2000 with a minimum bid of 197K. No clue on the condition. I think if you make some crazy offers , someone will go for it as the boat market is so soft now. I even am hesitations on going through with mine at the 175K. I am going to take it though....

I owned a 1999 45' Excalibur and it was the best boat for what I wanted. I wanted all the luxuries and didn't want to settle for going 35 mph. The boat handled extremely well and all my go-fast friends couldn't believe how it would carve figure 8's. Mine topped out at 54mph. The boat was comfortable with all the comforts of home. I really loved the boat except for one problem that kept popping up and that was the Bravo 3's. The carrier bearings seemed to go in them at about 65-75 hours. I replaced 4 of them and the guy I sold it to last March replaced 2 and the one was brand new when he bought the boat. The price of $175k is hard to believe. I sold mine for $175k and it was 3 years old. I think that you will love the boat, but hate those drives. Also, you don't want to paint the bottom, so consider a lift in the cost of the boat. Painting the bottom reduces speed, but most of all, the value when you go to sell it. Nobody wants a 45 Excalibur with a painted bottom. Good luck.

During the first year, they took care of 2 of them under warranty. There's also a corrosion problem with the Bravo 3's, that Merc will not admit to. I'll try and find some info on it and post it here. Other then the drives, the boat is awesome and again for the price of $175k you're getting a lot of boat.
