Anyone have any info on 45 wellcraft excalibur?
I am looking at a left over 2001 45 wellcraft excalibur. Does anyone have any experience with one? I know it is made by Riviera yachts in some kind of joint project with wellcraft. The boat has 502s with bravo 3s. Top speed is in the low to mid 50s. It seems like a good mix of a performance boat and cruiser. All my previous boats have been strictly go-fast and figured this would be a change. Any input on the boat is greatly appreciated!!!

Several around here...owners love them...one had pro-chargers on it and I believe it ran in the 60's....I love the looks and seem to be priced right.

The one I have a contract on is a 2001. It has never been titled. The MSRP Was $401,000. Dealer invoice $246,500. I am paying $175,000. It seems like an awful lot of boat for the money. Does this sound like a good deal? I tend to keep stuff for short periods of time and want to be able to get out of it. I searched the book values and buc had it listed at 245k for a used one. My only concern is you cannot sell a boat to the book!!! I know those things are always high. Thanks!!!

I just checked on boat trader, there are 96's that they are asking more for than that. Great looking boat too.

I sold my 1996 in November for $110,000. It took me two years to sell it. I started at 179,000 and had no luck so I kept reducing the price until it sold.

Was it a bad boat? Did you have any problems with it? I know the asking prices are way high...At the 175k for a new one, am i going to get hurt?

That sounds like a good price for the boat. They are good riding and handling boats. The people in my area were more interested in Sea Ray and didn't realize the speed difference in the two. They are a lot of boat for the money.

I looked at the 40 to 45 sundancers but there are way too slow. At least the the excalibur does 50 to 52. Seems pretty quick for that size boat. Plus it has sleek lines. Much sportier than than the sundancers.

The 45 was replaced by an all-new 47 last year, and then Wellcraft dorpped the entire line, so I think that has pushed the prices down. I believe that Four Winns now markets them. Either way, I think that they are pretty eye-catching and a good balance between performance and cruising.
