PT 109 class restoration begins
 

I've posted a few photos of Saturdays arrival of PTF-3 that arrived at my buddies soon to be marina site in Edgewater, Fl. The captain of the boat told some amazing stories about being one of the very first battles it was in against the Vietcong in '63.
There are other stories in a magazine "Sea Classics".

PTF-3, sometime this week will be lifted out with a crane and straps, then airdried for a few days, then loaded on a mobile home like trailor and taken to Sanford Marina where it will be completely restored by volunteers (hello Too Old) and put on display.

Cool project!!
I think I saw that one while reading about the "Nasty" class boats.
Are the Napier engines still in place? I'd love to get a look at those.
Will it be in running or static display condition?
