I found nav chart software that ties GPS to laptop
There was a thread awhile back about using your hand held GPS with Microsoft Streets and Trip on a laptop. Problem is it will show your location on the water but no navigation info like tides, depths etc. I found a company that sells marine navigation chart software that also connects to a GPS for real time location and navigation. You need two of their programs, Offshore Navigator and Digital Charts. The programs are about $200 each so its not real cost effective unless you already have a gps and laptop.
