Yup.................the later ones (pictured below) had the "air trap"......(the next design concept to be "invented" in the near future)......on the OUTSIDE of the hull.

What is an "air trap" you ask..........? Wait a few years...it'll be back.

It is truly amazing what Mr. Switzer accomplished. The boats...uglier than a pile of doggy doo doo, but LIGHT years ahead of their time. Looking forward to seeing T2x's.
