Had that happen once. Parents were away on a extended trip and the water ran straight for 3 months. Stained the car a nice rust color.

Doh!

In high school my folks were out of town, which meant we threw a party. Trashed the house and after cleaning it the next day we realized the house smelled like carpet cleaner and Windex. So using our intelligent high school minds we opened every window in the house, after all it was a nice cool day. Left the house to go party again and because the parents were out of town, I stayed out all night. Returned about 11:00 with a bad hangover only to find 2 broken water pipes and all of the destruction that comes with them.
