Did Aronow Make a 24' Cat?
Found this on another site. Looks interesting. Trying to see if someone can solve the mystery.
24' Aronow Cat |
He sure did. I have a boating buddy who owned one. Not real fast, handling left alot to be desired and construction was a little poor( the whole front deck tore loose in rough water at about 75 mph.Nearly sank and was salvaged by a small marina and patched back together and sold to some unsuspecting sucker I guess. I asked T2X about it and he said it was a poor boat.
p.s. tell Tuxedo on that other site he owes me an x-18 ;) |
Fred, the black one was the one my buddy broke up. Wouldn't want to be in it again, never mind own it.

copeland had one. cool.

Interesting. Those look like 280 k planes at the top of the tunnel??? I wonder if theyre trying to use them as a tunnel tab?? If so, it doesnt seem like the best solution.....

Airpacker- What are you putting up against my X-18? Glad to have more than one on hand just in case :)
The issue I raised isn't that Aronow didn't design the boat. The issue was whether it is an Aronow Donzi which would have to be during the 1964-65 time period. |
Tuxedo
Are you suggesting that Arronow only designed boats in the 64-65? Do you have another x-18 laying around that you are also willing to part with? LOL

Afriend of mine in Indy either owns or has access to the Arnow 24 foot cat molds. He receintly converted one from an OB to a stern drive. Think he said he had it up to 106 or so. He also stated he was laying up one or two more of them. Also there were 4 different decks designed for them only one of which was ever constructed.
