You might consider the "rope light". It comes in either 12 or 110V. And there's nothing to break. I think even West Marine sells it now.

I put red tubes in the cockpit of my 302. The original court lights from Baja are a joke. They actually provide good light and don't draw $hit on the battery. I haven't had any problems with them holding up so far. Next will be LED in the cabin.

i have 3 of the tube lights in my boat. I usually end up replacing 1 per year due to breaking and stop working.

I actually think 2 of them have craked tubes tight now, but the light is still operating, so i will wait to replace.

Mine are hidden -- 2 up under the gunwals, and 1 in the engine compartment....so no one can see that the tubes are craked.

I bought a portable tube (green) for the engine compartment. I use it when I want to get that Nuclear look from under the hatch and thru the vents:cool: I unhook it and stow it while underway!!
Price is right to!!!

I have neon tubes in my old bayliner which would get pounded to death by me because I drove it like an offshore boat. (How many Bayliner Cobras have you seen airborne???LOL) I am also putting them in my Baja. The streetglow kits for undercar applications are good. You can actually bend them and they will not break. The key is to get good quality equipment. Good luck.

I used rope light on my boat. It's flexible so that you don't have to worry about breaking a tube. It's also low voltage, so there is no electrocution or fire hazard. Check out Outwater Plastics.

OUTWATER PLASTICS????

Here, I even did the leg work for you!

I used the red for my boat-that way I'm not blinded at night. If the surfaces are white, it'll light things up nicely. If the surfaces are dark, the low voltage stuff really isn't bright enough. This stuff is really trick when it's totally concealed from view. Put in the gunnel pockets, under seats, the dash, etc.
