Yeah, it's dropped about 6 feet this week and is forecasted to fall another 2-3 by the weekend. We haven't had any heavy rain here or up river to my knowledge. Those are typically the 2 things you need to worry about. The River will drain itself of moderate rain, like we have had in Cincy today.

See you guys this weekend!!

29Fever 06-12-2003 02:53 PM

River looks good. Here's a link to the forecast.

Open ramps along the Ohio River for this weekend...

Schmit Field...off Kellogg Ave.

Majestic Boat Ramp...under the Great American Ball Park

Fredricks Landing... off hwy 9, Wilder, Ky

9 Mile Rd....off 52 east going to New Richmond, this is the closest ramp to the event open to the public (it is run by Hamilton County)

The river is still going down and the rain seems to be passing trough before the weekend, The RACE goes on!!!

I just spoke to Roger and the Kentucky Lake Poker Run is canceled. It will be rescheduled for July. Better Luck in July. We'll see you there.

HyperBaja 06-12-2003 05:48 PM

Reindl--What is the weather forcast for there this weekend?

Allan4 06-12-2003 09:27 PM

Just checked it, so as of 10:30 pm thurs, here it is....

Fri, 40% chance of scattered afternoon t-storm, fri night, 30% chance. High 77*. Sat, high upper 70's no rain forecasted. Sunday, 20% chance of a "stray" afternoon t-storm. High upper 70's.

River is forecasted to be between 32 and 33 feet, down about 6-12 feet from last weekend (depending on which part of the weekend you go off of:D ). Normal pool stage is about 25-26 feet, so about 6-7 feet above pool, which is very workable. It rained on and off all day today and the river forecast is still the same. Not enough rain today to cause any problems. We dodged a bullet for sure!!

Looks good for Race day, should be a blast!!!!

See ya there everyone!!!!!!

:D

BAD-HABIT 06-13-2003 04:01 AM

I will be trying to come down Sat afternoon or Sunday....Im coming down on 75. Where is the best place to park and watch the action and yet be close to the pits, and the show/booths....I will have my family......Any thoughts would be welcome....

Wife just called me from the Eastgate Mall parking lot, she said a big cat with 31 Page racing on the side of it just got pulled into the mall parking lot, I guess they are stopping for a couple rain suits for today. There is a couple hotels in the area to so maybe that iswhat they are doing.

Allan4 06-13-2003 10:57 AM

Just watched the weather report. As of Friday Noon....

SUNDAY....82* AND SUNNY, NO RAIN!!!!!!

Now they are calling for only a "slight" chance of scattered T-storms early on Saturday morning, the rest of the day is p/c to sunny, and 79*. How cool is that! NO RAIN!!!!!

River is continuing to drop. I'd pleasure boat in it right now as it stands, at it is still going down.

ALLRIGHT!!!! Keeps getting better and better.

Sorry to all for the weather, cannot beleive the thousands and thousands of fans that stayed through it all to see the Cats Race in the third race. Special thanks top Rob and Terrah for all their help.

merlin540 06-16-2003 06:39 PM

IT WAS A GOOD TIME AND I HOPE IT HAPPENS FOR NEXT YEAR.

Allan4 06-16-2003 08:35 PM

Ditto Merlin, I had a great time and I think that next year will be even better. It's great to see that everyone can be light hearted and enjoy themsleves even when the weather is really crappy. Nice job to everyone who showed up and supported the weekend events.

Take 'er sllllooowwwwwww......:)

firstoffshore 06-17-2003 08:30 PM

I've been to a bunch of offshore races, but this one had a million dollar view of the action. I did'nt even notice...did it rain?

This event was first class. Thanks for bringing it to Cincinnati.

Reindl Powerboats 06-18-2003 10:51 AM

First.Offshore...

Thanks for the comments. We are working harder to make the VIP area and viewing EVEN BETTER for next year - the Mayor assured they are working on putting in more ramps and an area for the crane for next year.

And you are not kidding about the rain - I think only 15 of the 12,000 + people were there headed for shelter. The rest were ready and waiting for the big boys to play in the third race!

Tom 06-18-2003 11:06 AM

Was there a batboat race? Did I miss the post about it?

HyperBaja 06-18-2003 11:17 AM

Bat Boats were first race.

I always thought they would be bigger....They are tiny!!! Look like bath tub toys!!! Chris, would you be able to do some sort of 1/2 day school thing in the Bat Boats?

Tommy

Batboats are really only 22ft 8inch from nose to transom. They call them 22s in Europe with outboatrds and no canopy. The tail makes it 24. Even next to a "regular" 24 like a Pantera the batboat is tiny. Sitting on the deck while docked your feet touch the water and when running it feels like you are in a go cart so close to the water. That is what makes them such a blast to drive and so amazing that they handle so well against boats that are so much bigger in more than just length.

So who won? What was average speed? What were the conditions? etc.

Reindl Powerboats 06-19-2003 08:34 PM

The One Design GLSCS (Dash for the $25,000) was won by Treadwell Motorsports/Colby Family Chiropractic... 2nd Double Trouble and 3rd Medicine Man.

The One Design Pro Series was won by Mid American team of Ken Doyle and Norman Colby. Keep in mind Colby won both races, but in different boats, with different drivers, proving the boats were running dead even. 2nd was Premier Performance Interiors with World Champion John Harlan and 3rd was American Express.

The boat may be small, but one of my best times racing was beating a 42 Fountain with tripples in 7 foot waves in Oceac City, MD... Man was that guy pissed. I guess that is why the boat was soon outlawed in all but the One Design Class.
