Active Thunder's new 28 design
1 Attachment(s)
We have just delivered our new design in our 28 Offshore boat. It is powered by a 525 merc. We changed up the design and mirrored it to it's older brother the 32 offshore. Our 28 rode and handled well already, but now it handles even better. We had it out yesterday it 2-4's and it really ate up the water. I will post some pictures. This boat is on its way to Va today.

Nice lookin' ride!:)
|
What kind of speeds are you seeing with the 525 ?
|
Yesterday we saw 73 mph and I am estimating with some labbed props and some break in time it should be a 75-76 mph boat. We are very happy with those speeds as this is a big 28. :) :D ;)

looks great! got any more pics?

thunderdan...I will eventually be in the market for a 28' to a 32' boat and have been bouncing between sunsations and sonics...but the AT looks pretty impressive. I would love to know the price range on that new 28'.

Fred,
As a customer focused business be strive to put our customer's boats first, then our demo boat second. As previously posted we had to make custom exhaust for the 525's to ensure a proper fit below the rubrail and swim platform. So we are having three sets made, one for Stan's and the other two are for 525-37's that are sitting on the floor. Thanks for your concern, and we are going to the water next week with Stan's boat. Now back to the 28, here are a few more pictures. |
Better make sure you have a Brunnet co-pilot, as you would sure get lost with a Blonde watching the compass.
:D :D (Totally kidding.) |

Originally posted by Too Old Gee Dan, you may have previously posted that you "had to make custom exhaust" for the 525's but I sure didn't see it. My apologies if you had to repeat yourself. I certainly wasn't showing any "concern". I was simply interested in how the 37 runs with the the 525's. I look forward to the water test numbers next week. |
I'll bet you that I am more excited!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!
Stan |
Stan,
That is one bet I will not take...lol |
This may be a small detail to some, but I can't understand why AT doesn't rearrange their dashes so they can fit the compass on the drivers side. To me it's completly useless where it is now.
On a positive note the boat has great lines. Can't wait to see more pics of it. |
Sweeet....
Congrats to who ever the new owner is. I like it! |
Where in VA is the boat going?
|
Hey is that AT's new SuperBus Lite racebus in the background? Looks pretty fast although the lines are a little boxy.
The 28 looks great, will I be seeing it around Richmond/Lower Bay area? |
so how much ??? 502 mag 79k?
I wish I had the $$$ right now for Jafo's AT very good deal |
What did you change on it from the old '28? It does look alot sleeker and not so high and stubby. What should it do with either twin 350's or better yet 377 scorpions? And a doller value? Oh yeah! what is the weight with single and twins?
|
Chuck,
Take a closer look. You know that hull.....You had one! And it rides every bit as well as it's big brother. Very impressive, level ride and the best I could tell, about 6% faster. The jury is out on twins. I'm not sure if that is a good move or a bad move. Her balance was so nice with the 525. Just perfect. We've got another in the works so if you are interested, a ride can be had. Just let me know. Thanks for the interest. Pat. |
The boat is stored in Woodbridge Va, and John, who is the proud new owner, runs in the River from DC to the bay.
|
I will keep an eye out for it. I too run that area.
|
Great looking boat.Looks as if the speeds are climbing on the new 28.

Even OSO member "beak Boater" was out today.

Very nice looking boat, especially 4 shots before this post. Looks larger, but sleeker and not that stubby bloated look, very nice lines, can't wait to see how it performs with the step, now that would make a good demo dealer boat:p :D
