Default Little Cheap boats?

Thinking of starting to look for a small, 18 or less boat, dont have much to spend on it, want something with low freeboard, I/O or O/B, that can be running for 2k or less. Dosent need to be a big offshore, just handle smoothe water and some fast speeds if I do decide to put some power in it. Does anyone know of any boats like this?

Thanks,
Tommy

Look for an older STV. They are very quick and can be bought reasonable, although you may have to look to find one under $2k.

I've got a 18' Mirage tunnelvee with a safety capsule and tandem trailer that I'll sell for $3500 (no motor).

I've got a 16' padvee runabout (closed bow and glass windshield) with a 260 Merc on a custom bunk trailer that I'll sell for $5500.

I also saw a Glastron GT150 for a couple of grand with a big old Chrysler outboard on it.

Have to go with a Hydrostream. You can get speed out of one with not much power and they are a real thirll to drive. In any case check out www.screamandfly.com Those guys are really into what you are looking for and there are some good deals over there.
