New guy needs some info.
First of all, I've been kinda watching this board for a couple of weeks after some friends of mine from Lake Monroe turned me on to it.
Right now I have a 34 Wellcraft cruiser but I am looking at a used American Offshore. It's a 31 foot, 2001 model with twin 600's. Low time boat, seems to have a fair fit and finish and fast. Anybody know about the company? Thanks P Murphy |
Welcome to the board !:D Not an expert on American offshore but I think it is a copy of the "chris cat " .Pretty good boat I think ... I am sure many OSOer's will add their .02 . JOE

Indyboater,
I believe that American Offshore is a derivative of the Chris Cat. I don't know if they are still building or not but the website for American Offshore is still up and was apparently just updated a few days ago. Here is the link to it For info on the company try emailing Scott Hutchinson who is FASTCATS here on OSO. Oh BTW, welcome to the board! |
Well, I don't know this Scott guy. The web site is working. The little - between the words was why I couldn't find it. I'll give them a call on Friday.
Thanks for your help. P Murphy |
Member by name of "Dinick" has been on board lately & think he is with AO

A friend of mine owns a 31 ao, with 502's and prochargers, it is a solid boat. and pretty fast. ther are derived from the 30 ft chris cat. As for the companies stablity, unless the boat is under warranty i wouldnt put that in the purchase, have it surveyed.

Once again, Thanks for the info. Going for a test ride on Sat.
