OT: Any Gun Collectors here ? ? ?

I know this is way off topic, but does anyone collect guns?

My buddy has a nice COLT .357 mag PYTHON from the 70s in the best shape I have ever seen. He wants me to list it on www.gunbroker.com for him or see if anyone on here is interested. I know it has a very low serial #.

puder 06-12-2003 12:56 PM

I do, 14 by last count :D

puder 06-12-2003 12:56 PM

Do you have a shrink ray gun?
:D

rouxsterre 06-12-2003 01:21 PM

How much - any pictures?

Dock Holiday 06-12-2003 01:25 PM

I have two Pythons and all the other snakes. The Python is hands down the finest revolver ever built.

One of mine is Nickle plated, bought new in 1976 for $250.00. The other is the polished stainless steel, never fired, new in the box and they are worth about $1000.00.

Send me a picture and the price, I might take it off your hands.

here is how to
Purchase a REAL Minigun in the US & Stay Out Of Jail!

Note: If you live in California, Delaware, D.C., Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Rhode Island, South Carolina or Washington skip to #11

1. Find one for sale, and as I have been told
there are only 8 in existence that were registered
before May of 1986 that may be transferred
into civilian hands.

2. Have $175,000 to $300,000 to spend.

3. Find a Class 3 Dealer to do the
transfer paperwork thru the ATF.

4. Wait a month.

5. Get another job to pay for all
of the ammo you will need. Use $20 per second as a estimate.

6. Wait another 2 months, the ATF is
never ever in a hurry to process paperwork.

7. Find somewhere very secure to store it.
Under your bed just won't make it.

8. Accept the disappointment you will never ever
be able to hold on to it like in the movies & fire it.
Without spinning around like a tornado of hellfire... :D :D

9. Accept the fact you now will have to spend $500 for a magazine
another $950 for a good tripod & $1800 more for an ammo chute.

10. Are you shure You Still REALLY Want One

11. To much hassle for you or live in a state that prohibits class 3 ownership , then move!
try South America, Cyprus, Norway or South Africa.

Note: I did leave out another option of becoming a Class III dealer yourself & purchasing cheaper "Post '86" guns but I must emphasize this. To go this route you MUST conduct businuess as a dealer. The ATF specifically forbids people from becoming a class III dealer just to enhance their own personal NFA gun collection. Ie: They pull your stamp, take your guns & do all they can to see you end up in the big house. So if you want to get a Minigun for $40-$50k be prepared to go into the gun business as a new full time career. No Exceptions!

those 11 steps might just be worth it!

(great now i'm gonna be in another 12 step program......)

H2Xmark 06-13-2003 06:03 AM

you forgot about the transfer part on the background check, chief of police has to sign for you, 500.00 transfer tax, to the government, and easier way is to start a business and get Incorporated it cuts down some of the step[police sig] , I checked into getting a class 3 weapon, it is some big money and paperwork, I would love to have an H&K51 , Texas is a legal state for class 3 weapons,

Scott72 06-13-2003 11:56 AM

I have a couple in the collection.

Theodore Roosevelt edition Winchester 30-30. Inherited it but never shot it.
Ruger Mini-14
Mossberg Model 500 12 gauge
Winchester Model 12? 16 gauge Shootgun (Inherited that one too).
Glock .40

That about rounds it out...

cuda 06-14-2003 05:29 PM

I have a 6" blue Python. The action is slicker than snot on a door knob. I'm glad they are strong guns. I roll my own loads, and once I took it too the range with some of my reloads. I fired 6 shots thinking it was kicking a lot more than usual. I got home and pulled the lead and checked the load, I was way over pressure. If it had been a cheaper pistol, they may be calling me lefty about now.

BTW, I also have an eight inch Anaconda, and it is far and away my favorite pistol and feared by every wild hog in Florida.:)

Fred, please do not post anymore pictures of guns, I already have 30 or so of them, and am thinking about thinning them out myself. HOWEVER, I have 20 ga side by side that I couldn't hit the ocean with knee deep in water, and that light O/U looks like it would be a sweet quail gun.:)

CLASS 3

CLASS 3 is not as hard as you may think.Try http://www.kingsguns.com He is a true class act and a more honest ,nicer guy, does not exist in this world. You will have to get a Class 3 dealer in your state to handle transfers but Robby can hook you up with the good stuff.Click on NFA Facts on the website. If you are in GA he can really set you up with some firepower!

Oh I also love my AR15:p

cuda 06-23-2003 06:10 PM

Those lever action shotguns are a hot comodity for people that shoot Cowboy Action. They can only use a break open, or a lever action.

DanB 06-23-2003 06:15 PM
