Motor hatch screw drive?

I have a 1998 271 formula I need the screw jack assembly that makes the motor cover go up n down. I was told NO ONE makes or sells them That I need to buy a whole new assembly motor and all. My motor works fine I was looking for the screw jack assembly?

Is yours stuck? Mine sticks regularly if someone (wife) holds the button too long. You can free them up by taking it apart.

Get ready to buy a new one. About $275, I believe.

A lot of marine suppliers have them. They are called a hatch actuator.

Payton do you know of a place name and number where I can order 1?

I went to my local Formula dealer He said He can't just sell me the Hatch actuator, He has to sell me the actuator and the electric motor for almost $600

I tested the motor it works fine, the screw threads in the actuator are destroyed.

The original manufacturer is still making them.
I just wish I could remember their name. I know it's cast in the side of the housing.
I think I have their website on my office computer. I'll check Monday.

One of the performance suppliers sells them as well as others.

What's wrong with yours?
Mine tends to stick at either full up or full down. I've had mine apart several times unjamming it and greasing everything in sight. One time it jammed so tight I had to disassemble it, lock it in a vise, wrap a rag around the bottom gear and use a pair of large channel locks to bust it loose.
Now that I know where it jams, I only open it as much as needed and when I close it it's only till the hatch is shut. I don't run it till it clicks or ratchets.
