OLD Style or NEW Style?

If you were buying new, and both boats were priced the same, would you prefer the Older style, narrow beam, sparse cabin (think Cigarette) -OR- the Newer style, wider beam, luxurious cabin (Outerlimits, Nor-Tech)? Please don't get technical, this is just a general question.

I would go wide beam with sparse cabin

traviss 06-15-2003 09:03 PM

I would have to go with the older style boats.. They might be heavier boats but Nothing will beat the looks of a older narrow beamed offshore

The gentrification of OSO :(

puder 06-16-2003 12:45 AM

no option for narrow beam luxuary cabin huh???

THRILLSEEKER 06-16-2003 06:37 AM

Definately narrow, if I wanted a huge luxurious cabin then I would buy a cruiser:rolleyes: :D

VinMan 06-16-2003 10:05 AM

Old and Narrow! Not one of them "pretty boy" boats!:p :p

Miami Stlye long and thin....Love how the windshield is on all of the big Aronow boats!

rouxsterre 06-16-2003 12:21 PM

Whatever "WickedWon" is . . .

My wife and I would like to have an Eliminator Daytona with the wide cabin. I know that the roof is not very tall, but the sleeping area sure is wide! :D

cigarette1 06-16-2003 02:13 PM

Back in the old days of OSO, the count for narrow w/ sparse cabin would have been at least 5+ to 1 over a cruiser. No wonder things seem a little bland around here now days ;)

Jassman 06-16-2003 04:48 PM

I prefer the wider beam and a more curvy outside, which usually makes for better headroom for overnighting. I also prefer a integrated swim platform, but ya know, different strokes for different folks.;)

It would be a 13'+ beam, Cat, loaded, if money no object.

Looks great and is always an attention getter!!!

D_Casten 06-17-2003 08:29 AM

Give me more room to party, the fun is in tweaking the boat. Not actually going 1.3 mph faster.

THRILLSEEKER 06-17-2003 08:31 AM

Awesome looking boat OBNOXUS! what size is it?

BTW, it looks like you are loosing your pants in the second pic:p

Exactly. I just swiched from the full cabin in the old Top Gun, to the Cover girl (not the extended one) cabin in the new one. The boat rides awesome and is faster. I still have a head for the ladies just in case. It has room for towels, pillows, bags, and still has the built in self draining cooler, which is key. :D
