What a great weekend to be out on the great Mississippi River.
Thanks to you guys and the gals for showing us some of the great spots that I never knew about. Having been a river rat all my life, you guys certainly made me fit right in :) Sitting in the cove and listening to you guys come around the bend was the best. My kids said "Dad here they come" way before you were around the bend. Thirsty Turtle, that Pantera really moves out and sounds great. Running South to #5 was great and we should have some great pictures when they are developed. Thanks for all the kindness and hospitality. I owe you guys a few rounds next time around. Here are a few pictures from our weekend. Here is my Middle son Curt driving :) |

Jeff.
It was great meeting you, your wife and kids. We look forward to seeing you again on the 4th of July or before. It's a Bummer you guys can't make the poker run. It will be off the charts. I'll be sure and take lots of pictures for you to look at. :D :D Here is a picture I took of you memorial weekend. Brian |
It was a pleasure to meet you, Carol, and your three boys. Glad we got you up to GRH and to Indian Creek. There are a few more backwater haunts in the area that we'll have to get you to.
Let us know if you're going to be around on the 4th. We definitley have room for you! Running down to Lock 5 was excellent! Nobody on that stretch of river and running 5-6 abreast:D Sunday we had a 29 Outlaw and a Formula 292 heading out for a boat trip to Hannibal, MO. We followed them to Trempealeau, then went back to the cove to get some sand under our feet. An excellent Fathers Day! Fred.....the low hour 502 MPI's we put in last fall were a great addition. 48 GPS @ 3000 rpm, 68 GPS @ 4000, and 78 GPS @ 5000. Up river is 3 mph slower. |
Put your sticker on yet??:D :D :D

hey Jeff
Glad you and the family had a good time. You, Carol and the boys need to come for the fourth, I know you guys would have a blast. That weekend I am sure that all of the hotrods will be together, That is when we really make some noise. When we all run together (usually 10 boats)people run to the waters edge to see what is coming around the bend.;) |
I was going to ask you jeff what you thought about running the back waters to Indian Creek? When you are leading the pack back there for the first time of the year it is easy to second guess your self on which turn is which.
|
That ain't saying much coming from someone as directionally challenged as you WC212.
I've seen it. When asked which way did they travel, north or south......you'll confidently say NORTH......as you're pointing south!:D :D |
Ha I know you would chirp in on that one. :p Who said you dont need a compass on the Mississippi? mama always sayed thet I wernt very smert.:p
