I sent an email with some questions pertaining to the engines.... Let's see what comes back.... 100 and more to go.... maybe the bottle was in front of the speedo.... 100 proof!!!!

Maybe his GPS was set to kilometers per hour - 100 kph = 62 mph, I'd buy that with throttle left. Figure that boat with 502's is a low-mid 70's runner (one of our board members had that same year and power, IIRC, and he got mid-70's).

Or the guy could just be an idiot.

o.k. sir that is the tach not the speedo it reads 1000 rpm and yes you have plenty more throttle to go.

I had that same boat, same year, same motors, Top speed was 70-71, not no 100mph;) :D

No way in hell!! it would ever go 100... We use to own a 2002 34Vyper ran in the 70's.. It would be fun though to ask for a ride on it.. haha

What an idiot! He doesn't even know what motors he has. THAT boat has been well maintained - yeah right!!!

I find it hard to believe Powerquest put bulldogs in a '95 - did Merc even build bulldogs in '95?

I think the BullDog motor has been around since 90

I just sent the seller an e-mail, asking for pics of the engines and a couple other questions. In his defense, it looks like the owner is some auto loan or finance company - they may have just bought the dealership where this boat was at, and don't really know anything about boats. Of course, if that's the case, maybe the guy should keep quiet rather than spout a bunch of bull****...

when I put my faria speedo in it added five mph to my boat. The only thing that sucks is it must have screwed with my gps because now it reads slow. HMMMM

I have yet to see ANY PQ do 100MPH. If this 34 does 100MPH, it's the only one and it's gotta be a handful to drive.

I just got an e-mail back from the seller, with some additional information and pics:

No pics of the engine compartment, though it does look clean from the pics he sent me. Now, I might be wrong, but I thought the 540 Bulldog was always a carb'd motor, not EFI as this guy claims; apparently Merc no longer offers it, since I can't find it on their website.

I get the feeling this Gray character doesn't know a whole lot about boats...
