Skater 28 vs 35 feet V hull
Hi!
This may be a silly question, but I jump into it!
I have been working on a skater 28 project for a while. It has been some downsides, but I hope to have the hull back home in Norway this summer (18 months delayed). Its a bare hull, and it has to be rerigged completely (paint, seats, steering, electrical, instruments, engines, etc).
I have got the hull cheap and I expect that a fully restored boat will cost me approx. NOK 500.000 / 72.000 USD incl one more PM 300 (I already have one on my Phantom 25). Pls be aware of the taxes in Norway.
I could also do this project and sell it. Then I could buy a 32-35 feet V hull. I have to add money - but I should be able to buy a Formula 353 Fastech/Fountain 35/Apache/Phantom 34 Classic/etc
for USD 100-115.000.
The V hull will be slower (80-85 mph), have better amneties and maybe suited better for the North sea. The Skater will be faster, less amneties - but is it as good in high seas??
Just now i tend to try out the Skater 28 and see how it works. Never tried a Skater, so maybe it will prove to be beyond my dreams.
Is it that good compared to a 35 V hull?
