Littlefield trial in new Hampshire
Here's the results of the trial for Daniel Littlefiled who allegedly ran over a 20' Wellcraft with his 36' Baja last summer.

This is sad. I've always had a fear of boating at night. Even with a stern light on, it can be hard to see on a lake that is surrounded by cottages with porch lights. Most stern lights are mounted to low in my opinion. A person can stand in front of one and block it.
Seem unfortunate for both families involved hear. :( |
From what I've read it seems that Littlefield beat the system by running. The only impact I would drive away from is a "minor" outdrive strike. The pictures of the investigation showed the Baja on the back of the Wellcraft like the shark in Jaws:eek:. Any sober boater certainly would try to find out what happened. But it's hard to prove , the morning after:rolleyes:
Kinda makes you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? |
Sad, sad story...
The verdict does, however, SCREAM "Leave the scene if you are drinking!"
That makes it all the more sad. I read the whole thread last year. I don't know what happened that night...and I feel for each family. It is my opinion that most people that are familiar with the "facts" would be inclined not to believe the defendant's story. If they left the victims for dead, it makes my blood boil. |
