Eastern Long Island Run (Summer Fun Run 2003)

So my week vacation consisted of working on the boat to get it ready for the Summer Fun Run.
Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. We got the wrong tailpipes from CMI and were unable to rectify the situation in time. It seems that they make 3 different flange types and we got the wrong one. Custom tailpipes with Merc style flanges will not bolt up to my flex flange style headers which I bought new from Jones Marine.
It was a real run-around that has yet to be fixed. Right now I am very disappointed in CMI and one of their dealers in particular. This expereience will make me think twice about my next 6K exhaust purchase(and there will be more).
Anyway, my good friend Wes decided to lend me his 33 Powerplay for the day, as he has a neck injury and some bad disks...the good new for him is he got to run with Carl in the 47 Apache "Quick Tempered". That wave crusher was sure to give him a smooth ride to Greenport. Thanks again Wes!
I also want to thank everyone for showing up and braving the elements. I was a nice day, although we did have a bit of rain and we all scattered as soon as it let up. Total boat count was 22.
Thanks again to Jim at Falcon for putting his credit card on the bar for everyon to use and thanks to Claudios for the hospitality...
It was great meeting folks like Stan and X-cited with his 31 Sonic. Next year will be bigger and better!

All,
Just got back from our long weekend that started with the Fun Run. Great time despite the weather. Much deserved credit to all the organizers. It was good to finally meet Sean, Stan, Gary, etc.
There are more weekends left in '03. Any more events?
