Default Garmin 182C

I'm going to add this chartplotter on my boat this spring and was wondering if anyone has ever used the model with the internal antenna. I called Garmin and they say no problem Just wanted to check for real experience. It'll be great if I don't have to use it!

Here is a pic of my current Helm layout.

I'm going to replace the compass with the unit (flush mounted)

Here is a pic that I found with a similar setup.

Thanks in advance!,
Craig

I immediately replaced the black & white one with the 182C. Best thing I've ever done. You can read it at any speed. It loads much faster than the standard black & white one.

Do you have the internal antenna or the external one?

Its the external little "dome" on the deck. I do have my XM Satelite antenna internally mounted though. It works but every once in awhile it loses reception.

Craig,
Can you buy the 182c in white? Or was the one in your photo painted. I kind of like the white! I am interested in purchasing one this winter as well.

PS: I am a fellow Bullet owner, I remember seeing your boat at LOTO - Looked Great!

No, it does not come in white. The one in the photo is of Totalmp's Bullet, I'm not sure if they painted it or what model it is.

Thanks on the Bullet, I just bought it in Sept. and we love it!!!
Post some pics of yours!!!

I wish they would do white. They get hot as hell in the sun. The digital display can "black out" if it gets too hot. I throw a towel over mine when we aren't running.

My friend has an avionics shop in FL and rigged his antenna in the cabbin out of site. works great and hes running the garmin i think a 1006 color. No trouble at all if you have to mount it try tucking it inside.

Craig-I've been on TMP's Bullet several times. They took the GPS apart and painted it, but because of the way they did it, you would swear it came like that from Garmin. Your boat is bad ass by the way! Gotta love a nice Bullet! I think you might have to put a couple more gauges over on the left side.........perhaps BOOST and FUEL PRESS????????
