I have a 1994 sea ray 310 sunsport weighs in at about 8200 lbs bravo one's with 7.4l motors. I want to put threw hull exhaust on it for a little bit of noise it's just to dam quiet now!! I don't want to spend an arm and a leg because it won't really give me any speed difference or will it?How about weight difference in exhaust manifolds? What are some Ideas on exhaust manifolds and threw hull exhaust? I don't mind buying used stuff either!! Does anybody do that kind of work around wisconsin, I'm a little scared to drill holes threw my transom.

i just got done doing a thru hull job on my stinger. you should be able to use your stock manifolds and risers. if it is any thing like mine all you hafta do is pull off every thing between the riser and Y-pipe an toss it. cap off the Y-pipe with black rubber pipe caps found at a hardware store (dont forget to double clamp every thing). than run 4 inch soft marine exhaust tubing to your thru hull tips, which im sure you could find in "parts wanted" or "parts for sale" section of this forum. you'de be hard pressed to be into it for more than a few hundred bucks if you play your cards right. i can post pics if you need some referance. good luck.

What about drilling the holes threw the transom!!

Holes in the transom are no big deal. Just need a hole saw, measuring tool, and some guts. Measure twice (or three or four times) before you drill. Start with the drill going backwards until you are through the gel, then just drill slowly through the layers. You may have to go from the outside and the inside if the transom is thick. Seal real well with 5200 and through bolt the tips with washers. Also if you are going to do it, look for tips with flappers in them to keep water from reverting back in.


That said-you may want to check local noise laws-you will likely break them if you go to through hulls.

There is a specific measurement on whereto drill the holes for a bravo application. check out www.boatheaders.com .If I remember correctly they had the specs on where the holes should be somewhere on there web site. I hope this helps

I have about 3ft (guessing) of 4" exhuast hose that Ill let you have for half of whatever the going price is. I also have a competent echanic up on the chain that would probably do the work for you if your hesitant about drilling. The only other thing I would suggest is to use 3m 4200, not 5200, in the event that you might want to remove the fitings some day. If you use 5200, you will have to damage the boat to remove them. 4200 is a better choice in my opinoin.

I drilled a pilot hole and made sure it was on center before
using the hole saw, Use a 1/2" AC powered Milwalkie or a dewalt with the handle cause when the saw gets stopped it will spin yours ass around
