Drive Shower....Ready to buy.

Finally got a little extra $$$ to play with for the boat. Ready to purchase a drive shower for her. I believe that Simrek is the one everyone has recommended...correct? Where/who should I buy from. Looking to keep my business with OSO related people if possible. A few extra $$$ won't hurt anything IMO if the service/right people are there.

Thanks all.

Buck

Paul will sell to you direct. I briefly had one of his showers. When it wouldn't fit due to the swim platform, paul gladly took it back. With the shortie lower and a hydromotive prop there were also some clearance issues. Some people have also reported cavitation problems when planing out.

I would also like you to look at a innovative marine shower. That is the one that I currently have installed. The shower works very nicely with the water sheeting down the side of the drive. It also has a very stock look to it.

buck183 06-24-2003 10:59 PM

Cord...can you link me to a site with the product you mentioned?

If I get the Simrek, which one should I get? Summit or Halo?
Anyone? Stock B1 is the application.

Buck, I am also running the innovative marine's sea water pump shower. Looks great and is pumping water all the time(when the boat is running).

NOW that is innovation, I might just have to pick one of those up soon.

Chris 232--- I would pass on that one.

I run the one from Innovative Marine and I highly endorse it. My three other friends with fast boats also run them as well.

I installed a Simrek on my last boat, and my next one will have one also...halo btw.

US1 Fountain 03-19-2004 11:48 PM

I have bought 3 of the Halos and think they are the best. Bought my last 2 from Paul (Simrek) just a few months ago.

Buck,
get the Halo design. Better cooling over the Summit, plus looks better.

Get a Halo! :D

Keith 03-20-2004 12:22 AM

I have 2 Simrek Halo's installed. My buddies can't see my drives when we're running together, too much water being sprayed on them from the showers. No steam from the stern anymore when I come down off plane.

Just about all of us are now running Halo's with no problems or issues. Buy from Simrek direct, Paul is an OSO'er and provides great customer service.

CAP071 03-20-2004 07:24 AM

Run em all :D You may loose a few Mph but who cares you will have the coolest shower set up around :eureka:

splashandburn 03-20-2004 07:36 AM

Anyone else looking to buy? I need 2 sets and see that if we get to 6 they offer a 15% discount.

Troutly,

Someone revived this thread. I've had a Simrek on my boat since last July. Those Innovative showers do look nice though.

Does the cap allow the pickup hose to be mounted on either side?

Several of us use the one from Billet Marine with very good luck.

looks to me like the innovative marine ones have 45* pickups, not the 90* like the simrek..

Seems the 90* pickup is fool proof, where as the ones w/ 45* might not perform all that well at different trim agles..

I'm going to buy one this week for my ITS XR...

I was looking at the gaffrig offered by CP Performance.
CP Performance

I might be interested in ordering with you, but you didn't specify which one was offering the discount.

I just bought and installed the innovative unit. It actually has what they call an "ice cream scoop" in technical terms its a swept 90 deg which actually flows better than the hard 90 in the simrek. I'm sure both work fine, but the swept 90 is better- at least on paper.

jlsnyder26_Sonic 03-22-2004 09:04 AM

Well, If we can find 4 more interested, count me in...

I have a few friends around here with Simerecks and they seem to be happy with them.

Cool.. thanks for that info Cat... :)

Cattitude 03-22-2004 09:12 AM

Oh yea- he gave me an "OSO" discount just for asking, no GP required. The unit I bought is made specific for the XR/ITS ribbed cap, nice piece.

Chris288 03-22-2004 09:12 AM

P.S. check out the FAQ's on simreks web-site,, very informative about how the top cap ones do not work as well as the halo's.. seems they direct the water towards the top bearing cap and the sides of the drive better..

I guess you could count me in for a Simrek group buy also.. :)

Chris288 03-23-2004 08:32 AM

so,, do we have 6 ?? i'm in..

jlsnyder26_Sonic 03-23-2004 11:04 AM

Still only Three... We may need to start a new thread for 3 more.
