Unhappy Well, it's official. I'm done boating for the season.

Crazyhorse and I just looked at my motor. First thing we did was pull the dipstick. My "oil" level was about 6" over the full line. Pulled the fill plugs from the valve covers. Water, water everywhere. I'm done. I have absolutely NO money to be spending on this stupid boat. Won't even speculate how the water got on there. Gonna drain my water....er....oil and store the boat for a while and go fishing.

Oh well, my trip to the shootout just got cheaper I guess. Call me a boat whore for the rest of the season I guess.

Mike you whore!!!!!!!!! That sucks dude, get her running and part ways with her dude. If I get another boat by shoot out time you'd be welcome on it.

I hope you catch a bunch of fish to help take your mind off of the foul.

Mike-if you won't be towing down, then lets plan on driving down together. That'll save some additional $$.

I've had a couple "short" seasons due to broken motors before. The rule is "you can't call it quits until you KNOW what broke" .... and start planning for fixing it for next year.

Sorry to hear that we all know what the feeling feels like. I agree with Wally keep at it! You can have that sucker rebuilt in as little as two weeks, it does'nt sound like you hurt anything to bad since, you were not on the water when this happened? or were you? I remember following this thread, I think you will be ok.

It is not that bad being a boat whore, just bring some ladies with yah and your buddies are usually fight for you to ride with them.

Good Luck, have some beers and get back at that motor.

PS My boat has not ran for 1 year due to a really bad Mechanic and false statements he made. Decided to do it all myself with the help of expertise and advice.

Worth every hour of sweat you put in, you know what you have in the end.

I had a friend that bought a used boat in the winter... The boat owner had reciepts for two fres rebuilds on the 350s.
The motors were junk.
He rebuilt both engines...
one bearing clearance was too tight, and she got nice and tight on the maiden voyage.
HE WAS BOATING BY THE NEXT WEEKEND!
He went home sunday night. Spent two hours tearing things out of the way.
Pulled the motor monday morning. took it apart monday night. Got new crank bearings and some other poop Tuesday morning.

Rebuilt it tuesday night/Wed night. Back in the boat thursday night. Fired it up Friday morning.
Off to the bay with it Saturday.

We called his shop "Ed's Motors in a Week"
