The Liquid Jungle Boaters.
Gentlemen, and Ladies.
Could someone give me directions from the Madison direction
to the Great River Harbor. We will be heading up Thursday afternoon (late). I figure about a 4-5 hour tow. Is my best bet to go to LaCrosse and head north on 35?
I was going to bring fire wood. Is it needed?

Bill, that is the way I would go. This place is right off of Hwy 35 and I am sure there are signs indicating the turn.
You could always stop in La Crosse to get a bite to eat if needed. 35 is a good road North up to Alma area.
Hopefully one of the regulars will chime in on the boat ramp for your 357. I saw the ramp and it is a typical campground ramp, plenty of room to move around and should be OK for your boat. The other guys should also be able to tell you where you can park your truck and trailer.
Unfortunately our plans are still up in the air. We have reservations up at the casino for a few nights but our weekend plans may change. If we head up, we will tag along with you guys as well .
Your in for a real treat with the Liquid Jungle guys. They are truely great river rats. I have never been through the backwaters like I was a few weeks ago. You should of seen the looks on the fishermen as 6 of us cruised bye doing 60 . I am sure they thought we were crazy but these guys know the water .
Did you say firewood or fireworks . LOL They have a great set up with a fire ring so I doubt that you will need to bring some. Beer on the other hand, can never be enough so bring plenty.
Talk to you guys soon.

Jeff is right about the directions to get to the harbor. You will pass through a town called fountain city, then another little town called cochren once you get though cochren you have around three miles to go. The camp ground is on the left hand side of the road with a sign that is kind of hard to see. The sign is lit up at night that says Honda. On the right hand side of the road you will see a house that kind of looks like a ski chalet. Do you have a cell phone? You could call me once you get close, My number is 507-951-7960. We have plenty of wood, but jeff is right about the beer. Hope you have a good pull and we will see you Thurs. night

let us know if you and the family will be in the area. There is still some back waters that you have not ventured in yet.

Those directions will get you there!
Once you start seeing the flashing lights on the Alma power plant smokestacks above the tree line.....you'll be getting close. The HONDA sign also says GREAT RIVER HARBOR. If you have any trouble, give Mark a call on the cell.
We're near the lodge where you'll be checking in.....we'll keep an eye out for you.
Hope to see you this weekend Jeff!

We are looking forward to the weekend. My 6 year old has been begging to play in the water and sand for too long. He's driving me nuts.
Fire wood is loaded already. There's always plenty of beer packed.
Mark, I'll call you if I get lost or we run into problems and will not make it until morning. You never know with work and all.
