On a brighter note.....

I've got my 1972 Glastron GT140 all ready for the water. As of about 8:30 tonight the trailer bearings are done, the boat is washed and cleaned out (cover blew off over the winter, what a mess), wasp nests are removed (suprised the heck out of me, should have seen me run!!), the Merc. 50 is started and running like a watch, nav. lights work for the first time in 20+ years, and I even have a bilge pump now.

Let the fishing begin!! I might even drop it into the river in Grand Haven and cruise around. Working second shift for a month starting Mon. the 7th, so I'll have some daylight to play with. Should be interesting. Oh, and I can go all weekend on 6 gallons of gas and 16 oz. of oil!!!

Nope, no pics. I don't have a digital camera. The boat is 31 years old and does have some nicks and scratches. But, for a boat only a few years younger than me, it looks great. Interior is pretty good, no rips in the seats. Motor looks like new (well, new used I guess). Boat has been in my family since new. It came with the cottage my parents bought from my aunt after my uncle died nearly 20 years ago. My father then bought a pontoon boat so this boat became obsolete up at the cottage. I've had it at my home for about 8 years. It's not fast (does about 25 mph or so), but it fishes great. Nice a stable.

I even wired in my Garmin 162 GPS. Gotta mark those hot spots!!!
