I saw that Liquid Metal boat today headed west on I 4. Saw several others heading south on 95 between Jax and Daytona.

Mike and I worked at Savannah, we were the aqua baja that led the boats to the starting line on Friday and Turn one on Sat & sun. Does anyone have a photo of me holding the flag. I would KILL for a pic of me out there. I was the girl with the green and red flag that ran up and down the river on Friday.
I have a dark tan now. I think Ive never been so dark.
We were turn one the rest of the weekend. if you have any great shots.. do send of that too.

It was really nice to be invited to help. THe drivers all got hot and we passed out cold drinks and sunscreen. I think we made some life long friends... they always remember us in our Aqua Baja.

I enjoyed Savannah. I will see you all at the next race.

Welcome to the "Board". On Aug 2 at 11 am the race is going to air on the "Speed Channel". If you dont get any "pics" I'm sure you will see yourself in the background.
On the "Racer's Milling Area" you expressed interest in racing. I would have to say that many who race now have started off by volunteering at the races, just as you have. Often crews are looking for help. Just keep coming to the races and you will get to know who is looking for drivers or throttleman-especially with the lower budget teams who may not be able to attend all the races. Another suggestion is to offer to pay part of the expenses in exchange for driving/throttling. Best of luck!

Where exactly where you? in the river during the speed runs?

Hmm, hard to describe. If you were standing at the dock at the Westin we would have been to the right. Is that the North end?
Its the start line.
I was in the aqua baja... I had to drive up river, collect the boats with the green flag and then let each one go. We were in the pits most of the afternoon. Back and forth.

When we go to the next to, bahammas and Key West I will be investing in a better camera.
Its hard to take pictures when youre moving on the river....


During the race we were turn 1 med boat. We hung out with Cap'n Mike.

I volunteer for APBA when I have a little extra money.
We have been to Daytona and Savannah. One afternoon I was searching for Daytona pics and... Found your place. I loved the bloopers... I was crying ovre them... made me sick.

Nice Ride.. loved your bus.
At the moment I am unemployed and bored out of my mind. If you need any volunteers... let me know. I would be glad to write etc. I studied journalism in college and have been published in several newspapers.


Anyways...
ANy help is appreciated on the photos. When we get done, I search the net for photos hoping to see us.
Its sorta the reward for working so hard on my vacataion.

Yes, the guys with WHM are very nice! My husband asked Bill if they sold t-shirts for woman. Bill went and found the last one they had and gave it to me. When we tried to pay him for it he wouldn't take the money! It seems like all the racers we met were pretty stand up people!
