And they are sponsorless. If I would want to pick a winning team to sponser, my money would be on Randy & Glenn. They need a complete re-do of their stuff anyway: black & blue paintjob for Dog Pound, truck, camper, new t-shirts, hats, jackets ...
Black Beauty rules the seas!
Let's just hope there isn't any more chickenchit going on. Heard they blamed the Kilo DQ on the Coast Guard now. CG supposedly said Randy & Glenn left the channel ...

Dan:
Did Activator (BJ) race??? Or was that Gino & Mark (Winnebago) ?
There still seems to be some confusion. Some folks think they saw Randy & Glenn come in second.
I'm trying to get through to Randy, but he left his phone with his spouse ...

Ok, folks. Two sources, Randy's wife and Steve Miklos report:
Randy & Glenn in the lead. Shortly before crossing the finish line, their boat falters. Inofficial: Gino (Winnebago) #1, Randy (ex Typhoon) #2, A & A (Screamin' Eagle) #3.
Randy must have been way ahead when it happened. The engine died, they had to re-start and still made #2.
This will be a very interesting season. Mr. Clean v.v. The Bad Dog.
Both boats are plenty fast, but in the Kilos Randy was about a mile faster than Gino.

More news coming in.
Gino was in the lead for most of the race, Randy second. Randy finally edges past Gino in a daring maneuver. A few hundred feet before the finish line, Randy's motor overheats, goes into "limp home" mode. Randy limps over the line as #2, Gino #1.
Back in the pits, Gino complains about Randy & Glenn running "like cowboys," running unsafe etc.
Randy admits privately that his boat was "a bit loose, we've been on the side once or twice, but nothing radical."
APBA honchos demand to "see you two" (Randy & Gino) in a meeting, which is to commence shortly.

Gino got at in front and had about a boat length on them until about 3/4 of a lap to go. Randy came around the last two bouys first by about 2-3 boat lengths, and about 100 yards from the finish line there was a Bang...Still not a bad weekend for a new boat.
